For the last 22 years (already!), FIFEM has been a showcase for international film production focused on the different ages of childhood and youth. True to its mandate, FIFEM presents a wide range of unseen films, both rare and inaccessible, that offer a different perspective on other cultural horizons and a real encounter with works from all continents.

Convinced that the training of future cinephiles is still necessary, our programming choices demonstrate, this year again, a spirit of curiosity without borders. FIFEM is a selective festival, but largely open to gender pluralism and discovery. The 2019 vintage is exceptional: 28 feature films including two world premieres, 53 short films, 28 countries represented, from Argentina to South Africa, from Croatia to New Caledonia. Films from all horizons, audacious and modern films in the image of today’s young people. A series of image educational workshops are also on the program, and you will have the chance to meet several directors from home and abroad.

FIFEM in a cinema … near you! The heart of the festival remains at Cinema Beaubien, but you can also meet us at the Cinéma du Parc and at the brand new Cinéma du Musée. It is therefore an appointment not to be missed!

Finally, I would like to acknowledge the extraordinary work of the entire production team and the critical support of our loyal and enthusiastic partners. I want to thank them warmly and it is in the name of all that I wish you a good time!
