Hélène Singer (Nouvelle Calédonie)

Organizer of the festival of youth cinema « La première séance »in New Caledonia (South Pacific) since 2013, Hélène is above all a lover of the 7th Art in all its forms. Combining her training as an image technician and her traveler’s soul, she weaves her experience on movie sets, in film distribution and in organizing audiovisual events in New Caledonia. She also engages in transmission through the creation of audio-visual and multimedia workshops for young Caledonians.


 Michael Harbauer (Allemagne)

Michael Harbauer is devoted to films since his early childhood. In 1996, he initiated the International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL. What was originally launched as a film week with not more than twelve films, is now one of the most comprehensive platforms for international and national children’s and youth films in Germany. Furthermore, Michael Harbauer is film supervisor at the important regulating institutions and advisory boards for film, cinema and television in Germany. He has also been member of several international festival juries and curated German film programmes abroad.


 Benjamin Alix

Passionate about literature and cinema, Benjamin devotes it most of his time. After studying Comparative Literature at the Université de Montréal, he decided to go into scriptwriting. This area is all the more appropriate for him who has always been curious to explore the human soul in all its facets. In 2015, he completed his training at INIS, and wrote a third feature film. He is known for his work on the film La Bolduc. Benjamin was Inis Jury at the 21st edition of FIFEM.


 Alexandra Guité
Graduate of the program Cinema 2006, profile Director

Documentary filmmaker and college teacher in film and philosophy, Alexandra is passionate about the children’s world. What motivates her: revealing with sensitivity the realities of human condition through inspiring and courageous characters. In 2018, Alexandra launches the production of the feature film “  S’éveiller”, a documentary filmed in a fifth-grade primary class in Candiac, focusing on the teaching of philosophy and meditation with children.



Élisabeth Locas
Graduate of the Writing Program of a series of fiction 2017, profile Author

Actress and author, Elisabeth has played in the films “Ville-Marie”, in the t.v. series “Série Noire”, “O” and “Les Argonautes”. She has also played and written for her multidisciplinary creation company “Juste comme Si”, among other things for the theater and opera youth show entitled “Branle-bas de combat chez la Diva!”. Elisabeth is delighted to see more and more movies and art for children. Her look as both author and actress will be a considerable asset for the jury of this 22nd edition.


Alain Jacques, Secretary of the jury

Alain has scripted and/or directed more than a hundred fiction and documentaries for television and cinema. For the past few years, he has mainly directed youth programs such as Toc toc toc, Sam Chicote, the Hipaloulas, Bookaboo and Salmigondis. He is working on the new version of Passe-Partout which will take over the antenna at Télé-Québec in February. It will be Alain’s 6th year as secretary of the professional jury after being president in 2001.
